Sneak peek: Tony Clifton forcibly removed from Showtime’s “The Green Room”

Among the many weird things that happened this July at Montreal’s Just For Laughs festival, one of the weirder but possibly predictable things was that Tony Clifton caused trouble.

It’s where and when he did it that’s newsworthy, as Paul Provenza had invited the longtime comedy character (played at times by Andy Kaufman, Bob Zmuda and ????) to appear for a taping of his Showtime series, The Green Room with Paul Provenza. Provenza’s official guests were Colin Quinn, Caroline Rhea, Lizz Winstead, Russell Peters and Bill Burr, with Clifton sitting in one of the front-row seats that circled the stage. Except Clifton couldn’t wait his turn and kept interrupting the discussion, to the point where crew members forcibly kicked him out.

Bill Burr’s timing is perfect, right?

You can watch the entire episode tonight on Showtime.
