NPR sends “Wait, Wait…” stand-ups out on Fall 2022 tour

If you enjoy listening to Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me! on your NPR radio dials, then perhaps you might also enjoy seeing some of their regular comedians performing stand-up live in a venue near you?

That’s the idea behind the new Wait Wait stand-up tour, which launched with a couple of pilot shows this June.

“The stand-up tour has the smarts and surprise of Wait Wait, but it’s a little more raw, with more laugh-out-loud moments,” said Doug Berman, the show’s creator. “There’s just not enough time during an hour of Wait Wait to really get to know the panelists. They’re some of the smartest and funniest people on the planet, and this is a chance to spend an evening laughing with them.”

Alonzo Bodden hosts the tour, which kicks off Oct. 21-22 in Michigan (Oct. 21 in Ann Arbor, Oct. 22 in Kalamazoo).

Other dates include Nov. 10 in Eugene, Ore.; Nov. 11 in Portland, Ore.; Nov. 12 in Seattle (Helen Hong, Maeve Higgins, and Cristela Alonzo all that weekend); and Dec. 2 in Dallas (Adam Burke, Negin Farsad, and Maz Jobrani).
