Jordan Klepper Revisited the ‘MAGAverse’ For This Daily Show Special

Three months after Donald Trump left the White House, Comedy Central’s Jordan Klepper reflected on his 14 months covering the 2020 Trump campaign in a new half-hour special, in The Daily Show with Trevor Noah Presents: Jordan Klepper Fingers The Pulse – Into The MAGAverse,

From an undisclosed parking lot in Pennsylvania, but perhaps Hershey, where he’d visited a Trump rally in 2019, Klepper looked back on the lunacy and hypocrisy he witnessed and heard firsthand., all the way up to and including his on-the-scene reporting outside the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, as the insurrection began. It was “a mix of the scary and absurd,” Klepper said.

We see even more footage from Jan. 6, which may come in handy for FBI and DOJ investigators, as well as outtakes from his interviews and interactions with Trump supporters. The mayor of Albuquerque tells him he’s billing the Trump campaign for $200,000 for an election rally, and having received no payment, sent a collections agency after him. In an ironic coincidence, Klepper also sits down for a follow-up interview with Edward, a debt collector and Trump supporter he met at a rally in Harrisburg, to see if Edward felt any differently about the ex-president or the movement in the months since Biden assumed office.

The half-hour special premiered Tuesday on Comedy Central. If you missed it, then you can stream it on Paramount+. Or you can find it for now also via YouTube.
