Comedians Starring In Super Bowl LV Commercials

It’s always extra special when a comedian earns a nationwide TV ad campaign. Even more special when it’s the Super Bowl.

And as Matt Braunger attests, that much extra special when comedians haven’t had regular live shows and touring to count on for income. Braunger fronts an all-star ad for Scott Lawn which aired early during Super Bowl LV.

The comedy community quickly rose as one to celebrate Braunger for the gig. He replied in kind: “All my shows since March 2020 got blown out from covid & I barely worked the rest of the year. To get a gig this big at the beginning of 2021 was beyond massive. Thanks, @ScottsLawn, sincerely.”

Brad Garrett as Tony Bolognavich (am I spelling that right?) for Jimmy John’s in a series of spots. Here’s the long version!

And that’s comedian James Schrader as the frontman for Dr. Squatch, a soap for men? He has been their spokesman for a couple of years now, but this is probably the first time most of you have seen him, or heard of Dr. Squatch.

Mike Myers and Dana Carvey brought Wayne’s World back together for UberEats.

And late in the game, four mini Maya Rudolphs for whatever Klarna is

Oh, and then there was this spot for Cure Auto Insurance, where comedians Amy Cardinale and Tommy Pope argued about whether or not anyone wanted to see Tommy’s “big opinion,” and nobody wanting to hear from Chris Wood.
