Dave Chappelle’s 2020 Saturday Night Live Post-Election Monologue

Sixteen minutes! Smoking inside during COVID! Dave Chappelle gave zero fucks tonight, delivering the monologue after the 2020 election, returning to SNL four years after he had hosted in the wake of Trump’s 2016 win.

Lots of things to talk about, but Chappelle first focused on his own heritage, namely his great-great grandfather, and how he’d look at his young namesake. He also took aim at his rural Ohio neighbors for making noise complaints about his “summer camp” comedy shows, and white people in general. He plugged Chappelle’s Show on both Netflix and HBO Max now. I’ll have more to say when I file my full report on this episode on Decider.com, so look for that in the morning!

Read my longer, later report on Decider about how loosey-goosey Chappelle and the rest of SNL played it through the night.
