Merrill Markoe Auctioning Off Her Letterman Memorabilia

Merrill Markoe, the Emmy-winning original head writer for Late Night with David Letterman, has begun auctioning off some items from her closet.

The first item up for bids: An original 1982 Late Night letter jacket. Bidding started at $500 and is at $2,600 with one day before the auction closes on eBay at 4 p.m. Eastern tomorrow.

As Markoe explained on Twitter:

“In case you haven’t seen this yet, I have begun selling my Letterman Show stuff…all $ going to charity. Here is the first offering,” she wrote. Proceeds from the Letterman letter jacket will benefit the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. “Every auction will have a different charity. I love these guys. They are very well vetted. AND they send me videos every month of my adopted elephants and rhinos.”
