Jim Gaffigan Becomes First Stand-Up to reach Billion Streams

Congrats to Jim Gaffigan, who has become the first stand-up comedian to attract at least one billion streaming listens of his comedy tracks in the digital age!

Gaffigan recently broke the billion-stream barrier on Pandora, the streaming audio app that’s now a subsidiary of SiriusXM. Pandora noted that no other comedian has reached a billion streams on any other audio platform, either.

“It’s ironic that people listened to me doing stand-up a billion times given I can’t get one of my children to listen to me once” Gaffigan joked.

Gaffigan also can count on more than two million listeners of Pandora who have started their own Jim Gaffigan station. SiriusXM also celebrated the comedian’s career achievements this month by launching a pop-up station for him (The Jim Gaffigan Channel, ch. 790 and ch. 98 on weekends) through Aug. 15.

Drew Miller, Head of Comedy at Pandora, presented the plaque virtually to Gaffigan. “We are delighted to present this plaque to Jim, the first comedian to cross one billion streams on Pandora. Reaching this milestone is a testament to Jim’s incredible talent, universal appeal and timeless material” said Miller. “Congrats, Jim! Thanks for giving our listeners over a billion laughs and counting.”
