All of the Stand-Up, SKetch and Improv Comedy on HBO Max at Launch

HBO Max is here! What does that mean for comedy fans? I’m talking live comedy fans of stand-up, improv and sketch right now, and not your basic sitcom watchers.

The biggest shock to many who arrive at the new streaming platform from Warner Media might be not seeing any George Carlin, as he was an exclusively HBO guy But as I noted in The New York Times a couple of weeks ago to celebrate Carlin’s birthday, all 14 of his HBO specials are currently on Amazon Prime Video. Back in January, Carlin’s daughter Kelly mentioned his specials would move around from platform to platform. How long before HBO gets Carlin back in the fold? Although they’re also still missing the even older Robert Klein specials, too. And still hiding Louis CK’s legacy work for them.

BUT. But there’s plenty for comedy fans to enjoy. To wit, at launch today, I found the following offerings on HBO Max:
