Comedy Central to premiere documentary, “This Is Stand-Up”

A new documentary about stand-up, This Is Stand-Up, gets its world premiere this coming Sunday (Easter) with limited commercial interruptions on Comedy Central.

This is Stand-Up is at heart a love letter to these amazing people,” says Producer/Director Paul Toogood. “Many years spending time and building relationships has hopefully enabled us to deliver some unique and fascinating insight into these loved, but oddly underestimated artists.”

“Their work is perhaps the most pure and immediate art form” adds Producer/Director Lloyd Stanton. “Stand-ups deliver joy, yet also address the most taboo subjects in culture, demanding an immediate physical reaction from the audience. It’s very special.”

This Is Stand-Up features interviews with Judd Apatow, David A. Arnold, Dave Attell, Maria Bamford, Bill Bellamy, Gina Brillon, Cocoa Brown, Cedric The Entertainer, Tommy Davidson, Mike Epps, Jamie Foxx, Gilbert Gottfried, Eddie Griffin, Tiffany Haddish, Kevin Hart, D. L. Hughley, Mia Jackson, Jim Jefferies, Jessica Kirson, Bert Kreischer, Bobby Lee, Carol Leiffer, George Lopez, Sebastian Maniscalco, Jay Mohr, Jim Norton, Rick Overton, Paul Provenza, Chris Rock, Bob Saget, Jerry Seinfeld, the late Garry Shandling, Sarah Silverman, Owen Smith, Kira Soltanovich, Beth Stelling, Taylor Tomlinson, Theo Von, and Keenen Ivory Wayans.

This Is Stand-Up premieres Easter Sunday, April 12th at 10pm ET/PT on Comedy Central.
