Hannah Gadsby wins the writing Emmy for “Nanette”

Congratulations to Hannah Gadsby, who tonight won the Emmy Award for writing for a variety special for her 2018 comedy, Nanette.

It’s Gadsby’s first Emmy!

She and the other stand-up comedians nominated for the Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded) lost that category to Carpool Karaoke: When Corden Met McCartney Live From Liverpool. As many, myself included, predicted.

Here was my initial review of Gadsby’s Nanette when it came out in June 2018.
