Jon Stewart, John Oliver, Hasan Minhaj and Ronny Chieng join Bruce Springsteen for 13th annual Stand Up For Heroes

For a 13th year, the New York Comedy Festival will start its week with its biggest and best event: Stand Up For Heroes.

The annual event raises money and awareness for the Bob Woodruff Foundation, named for the ABC News correspondent who sustained a life-threatening traumatic brain injury from a roadside bomb explosion in Iraq in 2006. The foundation helps “ensure that our nation’s impacted veterans, service members, and their families have access to the highest level of support and resources they deserve, for as long as they need it.”

Stand Up For Heroes began as part of the New York Comedy Festival (NYCF) in 2007. Performing this year, on Nov. 4, 2019, at Madison Square Garden’s Hulu Theater: Ronny Chieng, Hasan Minhaj, John Oliver, Jon Stewat, and Bruce Springsteen. The event has raised more than $50 million so far.

“Even after 13 years of Stand Up for Heroes, the event continues to inspire our audience and our nation,” said Woodruff, ABC News correspondent and co-founder of the Bob Woodruff Foundation. “We can’t forget that these brave individuals stand up to serve in our military, and we need to show our support by standing up for them in return.”

“The New York Comedy Festival is extremely proud to continue to partner with the Bob Woodruff Foundation to present Stand Up for Heroes,” said Caroline Hirsch, Founder of the New York Comedy Festival and Carolines on Broadway, and Board Member of the Bob Woodruff Foundation. “This special event continues to bring joy and laughter to the extraordinary veterans who have risked their lives for our country. It is a humbling feeling to provide support for veterans and their families.”
