Phoebe Robinson talk show a go at Comedy Central

Comedy Central still has one of the 2 Dope Queens lined up for 2020. The network today announced a 10-episode order for a talk show fronted by Phoebe Robinson, featuring one-on-one interviews with headliners across pop culture. “This show will hit that sweet spot between educational and charmingly ignorant,” said Robinson. “Who doesn’t love that? Erica Rhodes, Michael Longfellow, Lewberger, Chris and Paul advance on Bring The Funny

Sorry, Ismo fans. NBC’s Bring The Funny judges Kenan Thompson, Chrissy Teigen and Jeff Foxworthy winnowed the field for this initial comedy competition down in half again on the second round of “comedy clashes.” They chose Erica Rhodes over Ismo. They preferred young Michael Longfellow over Calvin Evans. They sided with Lewberger’s sketch over an impromptu musical number from Harry and Chris. Nathan Fielder moves to HBO for next TV projects

Nathan Fielder, whose writing team won this year at the WGA Awards for comedy/variety sketch series for the final season of Comedy Central’s Nathan For You, is heading to HBO. Fielder’s HBO deal includes starring in an upcoming comedy pilot, as well as executive producing an upcoming series, How To…With John Wilson. How To…With John Wilson is a half-hour, first person series hosted by Wilson as both cameraman and narrator, documenting the lives and careers of New Yorkers.
