Saturday Night Live adds Heidi Gardner, Luke Null and Chris Redd (yes, Chris Redd) to the cast for Season 43

NBC announced that it has added three new cast members — Heidi Gardner, Luke Null and Chris Redd — to the Emmy-winning Saturday Night Live franchise for its 43rd season, which debuts this Saturday, Sept. 30.

Gardner comes from the Groundlings main company in Los Angeles. She is also the voice of Cooch in the Crackle series SuperMansion and will appear in the upcoming 2018 film Life of the Party starring Melissa McCarthy.

Null, originally from Cincinnati, joins the cast from Chicago, where he was a musical comedian and improviser at iO Chicago.

Redd is a comedian and rapper and was a performer at Chicago’s Second City. He most notably
appeared in the 2016 film Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping and opposite Kathy Bates in
the Netflix original comedy series Disjointed. Originally from St. Louis, Redd’s first half-hour stand-up special just debuted on Comedy Central.

And I told you he was going to be a big SNL star a year ago!

SNL also has made the following new hires to its writing staff:

  • Sam Jay
  • Gary Richardson
  • Erik Marino
  • Andrew Dismukes
  • Steven Castillo
  • Claire Friedman
  • Nimesh Patel

CONGRATS TO ALL!
