Amy Schumer’s monologue for Gloria Steinem’s 80th birthday, at the 2014 Gloria Awards

It already has been a great 2014 for Amy Schumer. The 32-year-old comedian is enjoying her second season of the critically-acclaimed and popular Comedy Central series, Inside Amy Schumer, touring theaters across the country and earning an American Comedy Awards nomination as the top theater comic in the process, prepping her first starring motion picture that she wrote and will have directed by Judd Apatow, and is seeing her name mentioned more and more often as a potential network TV late-night host. Lewis Black on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon

Lewis Black‘s latest stand-up special, Old Yeller: Live at the Borgata, made its cable-TV debut Friday night on EpixHD. If you don’t have that channel, then you could see Black on broadcast network TV last night, too, as he delivered stand-up on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Michael Blackson on The Arsenio Hall Show

Michael Blackson bills himself as “The African King of Comedy.” You got a problem with that, Modasucka? Blackson performed stand-up on Friday’s episode of Arsenio, and let us know that Compton has a new visitor. Please do not call him a booty-scratcher or anything that refers to the darkness of his skin. There are many more slang slurs for that than I knew about. And he’s not that dark-skinned, even? What do I know. Blackson wants you to know that wherever you may be from, take pride in your stereotypes. And don’t sell out. Unless you’re in Arizona. Then...

May 3, 2014: Eugene Mirman Day in Boston, by official proclamation of Mayor Marty Walsh

You know there’s a new mayor in Boston because today is officially Eugene Mirman Day. Also, because Boston Mayor Martin (Marty) Walsh messed around with Mirman in this official City of Boston YouTube video to mark the occasion. Roll it. Here’s the proclamation that Mirman was holding, signed by Hizzoner. It commemorates the Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival, which started its second Boston edition on Thursday and continues with two shows tonight and another on Sunday¬†at the Berklee Performance Center. You can try to imagine this ever happening under former Mayor Thomas Menino, who ruled Boston with a lovably mumbled...
