Frank & Funny: A greeting card line written by professional stand-up comedians

David Crowe has been a stand-up stalwart in Seattle for two decades, and now he’s ready to help his fellow touring comedians cash in on another way to make audiences laugh — their very own greeting-card line.

Called “Frank & Funny,” Crowe launched the line with Seattle-based Compendium, Inc., last month. It’s the only greeting-card line written completely and exclusively by professional stand-up comedians. “The response to Frank&Funny by the greeting card industry atĀ conventions in New York, Dallas and Atlanta has been fantastic,” Crowe tells The Comic’s Comic.

The Frank & Funny line has 48 cards for sale currently, written by comedians including:

David Crowe, Costaki Economopoulos, Meghan Flaherty, Andy Forrester, Drew Hastings, Robert Hawkins, Art Krug, Joe Larson, Avi Liberman, Scott Long, Carmen Lyncb, Robert Mac, Elliott Maxx, Paul Merrill, Scott Meyer, Matt Olson, Yogi Paliwal, Ross Parsons, Rick Pulido, Tom Rhodes, Karen Rontowski, Greg Schwem, Dwight Slade, Cathy Sorbo, Brad Upton, Patti Vasquez, Bengt Washburn, Darlene Westgor and Dwight York.

Crowe wants to double the number of cards in the Frank & Funny line, and is taking submissions from professional full-time comedians.

“Submissions can be jokes straight from your act that read funny or card ideas that you think would be right for the line,” he said. “Each card chosen will include your bio and contact information on the back.”

Comedians whose selections appear on cards will receive an advance plus a royalty on sales, while maintaining the rights to use their material onstage, radio, TV or elsewhere outside of card form.

Please email your submissions to frankandfunny@gmail.com.

  1. Love your cards!! Laughed out loud at pharmacy in NYC. Now hoping to buy them in South Carolina – where can I get them please??

  2. I CAN NO LONGER FIND THESE CARDS AT MY LOCAL WEGMANS. I WAS ABLE TO ORDER SOME ON-LINE FROM A COMPANY CALLED COMPENDIUM BUT I KNOW THEY DO NOT OFFER ALL
THE CARDS THAT I REMEMBER SEEING AT WEGMANS.
