No fooling: Actual TV news involving comedians

Comedians were in the news this week in several different TV announcements. To wit: Andrew "Dice" Clay has a recurring role in the final season of HBO's Entourage. After last night's premiere of Mobbed, FOX ordered eight additional episodes of Howie Mandel's latest TV surprise show. Speaking of surprises, Betty White is getting her own gotcha series on NBC. And for the kids, Jeff Dye is getting his own gotcha series on MTV called Numbnuts. Or is he hosting a game show called Money From Strangers? Either way, he'll be on your MTV soon. So will Jon Gabrus, who'll host an MTV game show called The Substitute, which takes the idea of Cash Cab and sets it in school...

Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Fallon explain to Arianna Huffington why they’re TV BFFs (for six months)

Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Fallon got together four weeks ago and sang about their shared elitist status as people with their own Ben & Jerry's ice cream flavors. Their duet ended with an arrangement to become Best Friends For Six Months. Since then, Colbert raised money by auctioning off one of his paintings, and then jokingly roped Fallon into charitably giving, too — except Fallon then countered by daring Colbert to sing a cover of Rebecca Black's "Friday" on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon tonight.
