Dave Chappelle joins San Francisco comedians for “Save the Punch Line” rally

Dave Chappelle dropped into San Francisco today to lend his support to a public rally to save the venerable Punch Line comedy club, a fixture of the city for more than 40 years.

“I’m telling you, you guys have one of the best comedy rooms literally on Earth,” Chappelle said. “And please, you should protect it.”

He also said earlier: “When I quit my show, that club became a home to me.”

Nato Green organized the rally, with City Supervisor Aaron Peskin and plenty of other comedians, including W. Kamau Bell and Louis Katz.
