E! cancelling Busy Tonight after six-month run

Busy Tonight, which debuted in October 2018, will end its run after two more weeks.

Host Busy Phillips broke the news to fans overnight.

Busy Tonight, which premiered in the 10 p.m. slot on Oct. 28, 2018, got moved to 11 p.m. after New Year’s, and aired Mondays-Thursdays.

Phillips is the only woman hosting a late-night TV talker in 2019, and her show drew a younger and more female audience than the others.

Her team is looking for options on taking the show elsewhere. That team includes EPs Tina Fey, Eric Gurian, Julie Darmody and David Miner, and showrunner Caissie St.Onge.
