Jim Serpico launches new record label, Virtual Comedy Network

Jim Serpico, the former president of motion pictures and television at Apostle, where he shepherded Rescue Me, Maron, Benders, and SEX&DRUGS&ROCK&ROLL to TV, now has started a comedy record label.

It’s called the Virtual Comedy Network, and its first release is Jim Breuer’s “Live From Portland,” available to stream now and buy by Friday.

“It has always been a dream of mine to start a label that specializes in comedy,” Serpico said. “Laughing is such an important part of life. I look forward to collaborating with some of the smartest, most talented comedians in the business so that we can help spread laughter throughout the world.”

Serpico also co-created with Denis Leary the long-running annual comedy benefit in Boston, Comics Come Home. In June 2018, he launched a new production and management company, Milestone TV & Film, Inc.

“Jim Serpico has been a huge influence on my career, since I’ve been working with him. I’ve never been happier or more focused in my life,” added Breuer. “This comedy album was a smart approach to yet another launching pad of branding more of my comedy, and I’m very excited for the release.”
