Childish Gambino wins Song of the Year; Dave Chappelle Comedy Album of the Year at 2019 Grammy Awards

Donald Glover, aka Childish Gambino, took home top honors in absentia at this year’s Grammy Awards, as his “This Is America” won four Grammys in all Sunday night: Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Best Rap/Sung Performance and Music Video of the Year.

More than 482 million views of “This Is America” on YouTube since he dropped it in the middle of his hosting performance on Saturday Night Live last May.

Dave Chappelle also made it back-to-back wins for himself in the Comedy Album of the Year category, winning for a pair of Netflix specials that got bundled together for Grammy purposes: “Equanimity and The Bird Revelation.”

And Weird Al Yankovic won his fifth Grammy, this time for art direction for his boxed set. Go figure! Yankovic was the only one to show up for his prize, and here’s his acceptance speech (side note: Did they really typo his name on that YouTube title?!):
