Pete Davidson had a small role onscreen in Amy Schumer’s Trainwreck, the last feature film Judd Apatow directed. Since then, Apatow has been trying to figure out how to help Davidson fashion his own starring vehicle on the big screen. And now they have. HBO orders up A Black Lady Sketch Show from Issa Rae starring Robin Thede

A Black Lady Sketch Show will premiere on HBO in 2019. Robin Thede, last seen hosting a weekly talk show for BET, and before that writing and performing for Larry Wilmore’s nightly talk show on Comedy Central, will star in the sketch comedy series. Issa Rae, star/creator of Insecure, brought the project to HBO and will EP.
