Patton Oswalt, Jim Gaffigan, Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle and Fred Armisen vie for Grammy’s Best Comedy Album of 2018

Three former Grammy-winning comedians are vying for another Grammy Award for the Best Comedy Album of 2018.

Best Comedy Album:
“Annihilation” — Patton Oswalt
“Equanimity & The Bird Revelation” — Dave Chappelle
“Noble Ape” — Jim Gaffigan
“Standup For Drummers” — Fred Armisen
“Tamborine” — Chris Rock

Chappelle won last year. Oswalt the year before that. And Rock back in 2006. Don’t be surprised to see any of them win again. Gaffigan has his best shot, though. Do be surprised if Armisen wins.

But that’s not all.

Tiffany Haddish is up for her first Grammy, not for her stand-up special, but the audiobook of her memoir. She’s got serious competition. Literally.

Best Spoken Word Album (Includes Poetry, Audio Books & Storytelling):

“Accessory to War (Neil Degrasse Tyson & Avis Lang)” — Courtney B. Vance
“Calypso” — David Sedaris
“Creative Quest” — Questlove
“Faith – A Journey For All” — Jimmy Carter
“The Last Black Unicorn” — Tiffany Haddish

And Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino is back in the top categories for Song of the Year and Record of the Year, as well as Music Video of the Year. “This Is America.” You’d have to think he’ll at least win in one of those three chances.
