Bobby Collins brings 10th annual Comics For A Cause benefit to NYC

The annual “Comics For A Cause” benefit hits home for host Bobby Collins.

Not only because Collins is bringing the comedy fundraiser to his hometown of New York for the first time in its 10th year, but also and more importantly, because proceeds benefit Zeno Mountain Farm, a nonprofit camp based in Vermont that provides bonding experiences for people with and without disabilities.

“I was told my special needs daughter Madison wouldn’t survive more than 10 years. Now that she is 24, she has been going to Zeno Mountain Farm camps longer than doctors said she would live.”

“I know first-hand the hoops parents jump through and the staggering expenses that can pile up when caring for someone with special needs,” Collins said. “Zeno Mountain Farm has been an essential part of my family’s life for 12 years. The camps are completely free to participants and all the staffers work for free. My wife Jill spends her summers there cooking, cleaning, whatever it takes. I am thrilled this night of laughter can help fund the incredible work at Zeno Mountain Farm.”

This year’s benefit takes place Oct. 10 at The Cutting Room, with performances by Ray Romano, Dave Attell, Colin Quinn and more.

Tickets ($75-125) are available at The Cutting Room box office or www.thecuttingroomnyc.com.
