Springsteen and Eric Church join 12th annual Stand Up For Heroes to kick off 2018 New York Comedy Fest

The New York Comedy Festival once again will kick off its weeklong celebration of comedy with an all-star fundraiser, the 12th annual Stand Up For Heroes, slated for Nov. 5 at the Hulu Theater inside Madison Square Garden.

For 2018, the headlining acts will include Bruce Springsteen, Eric Church, along with comedians Jimmy Carr, Jim Gaffigan, Seth Meyers and Jon Stewart.

Over the years, Stand Up For Heroes has raised more than $45 million for the Bob Woodruff Foundation, which helps injured veterans, service members and their families. Woodruff, 57, was an ABC News anchor when he suffered a traumatic brain injury from a roadside bomb while covering the war in Iraq in 2006.

“As Lee and I began our own journey of recovery from my injuries, we were inspired and committed to do something in return for those who risk so much and ask for so little,” said Bob Woodruff. “Stand Up for Heroes was our way to come together with our veterans and their families so that we could laugh, heal and share in the incredible stories that have defined this movement.”

“Stand Up for Heroes is an incredible example of the healing powers of music and laughter,” said Caroline Hirsch, founder of the New York Comedy Festival and Carolines on Broadway and a Bob Woodruff Foundation board member. “We are proud to commend our veterans, and are thrilled to present the event, which wouldn’t be possible without the time and dedication from all of the performers and supporters of the organization over the years.”

Tickets start at $125, and will be available for purchase at noon Thursday.
