Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark of “My Favorite Murder” launch Exactly Right podcast network

In two-and-a-half years, My Favorite Murder has grown from oddity of the Feral Audio podcast network, to headlining touring theater act, to millions of monthly downloads.

Now the comedians who started My Favorite Murder are starting their own podcast network: Exactly Right.

When Feral Audio bit the dust at the end of 2017, in part due to allegations of abuse lodged against that network’s founder, several podcasts split and joined Starburns Audio. But there remained a distinct lack of podcast networks fronted by and geared toward supporting women. Into which void Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark have now filled with Exactly Right.

“Exactly Right is a podcast network that provides a platform for bold, creative, voices to bring to life provocative, entertaining and relatable stories for audiences everywhere,” the website proclaims. They’ll partner with both Stitcher for distribution and Midroll Media for ad sales.

More from the press release:

“With EXACTLY RIGHT, we want to provide a platform for bold, creative voices to bring to life provocative, entertaining and relatable stories for our fans,” said KILGARIFF and HARDSTARK in a press release. “We are thrilled to be able to bring this incredible lineup of podcasts to our audience, and we can’t wait to unveil the first shows later this year.”

“With incredible speed, KAREN and GEORGIA have created a worldwide phenomenon with ‘MY FAVORITE MURDER.’ That goes well beyond podcasts: they host fantastic live shows, and they have created and nurtured a remarkably rich, engaged fan community,” said STITCHER Chief Content Officer CHRIS BANNON. “They have a unique ability to find and tell stories that captivate podcast audiences, especially women. I’m delighted that STITCHER has partnered with KAREN and GEORGIA on EXACTLY RIGHT to help bring these wonderful stories to life.”

KILGARIFF and HARDSTARK also recently announced a book deal with FORGE BOOKS/MACMILLAN with their first book, “STAY SEXY & DON’T GET MURDERED,” due to be published in MAY 2019.
