Netflix will launch an all-comedy SiriusXM radio channel by 2019

With all of the new Netflix comedy specials the streaming giant has acquired and broadcast over the past couple of years, it’s not surprising that they’d eventually figure out it’s also the one format that adapts easiest to audio.

So today, Netflix announced its first audio venture, an all-comedy channel exclusive to SiriusXM satellite radio.

The new channel will include material from the Netflix stand-up catalog, which features the biggest names in comedy. SiriusXM will also broadcast comedy talk shows from Netflix plus additional original programming.

This partnership marks the first time Netflix, the home for A-list stand-up specials and high-profile comedic talk talent, will bring its content to an audio service.
