Fusion orders up political sketch comedy series, Happy Ending with Nando Vila

Fusion. It’s a TV channel. You may have it!

Once you’ve found it, starting next week you can tune in to a new weekly sketch comedy series, Happy Ending with Nando Vila.

The 10-episode series explores political issues and news beyond the headlines and tries to explain it all with laughs.

“America is looking for a happy ending to the mess we are in,” said Vila. “We are taking a fun, entertaining and informative look at the different building blocks of our political system, while proposing solutions in the hopes of making progress—because we’d like to end up, you know, happy.”

In a sense, it belongs to a new niche of sketch comedy already occupied by Adam Ruins Everything on truTV.

Happy Ending with Nando Vila, besides having the opposite tone in its title, takes a broader look at the issues, with episodes centered around capitalism, the gig economy, health care, housing and imperialism.

Vila previously executive-produced the Emmy-nominated documentary, The Naked Truth: Trumpland, and has served as a contributor to Fusion series The Feed and AMERICA with Jorge Ramos. He is EPing Happy Ending along with Chris Kasick (Uncle Nick, Attack of the Show).
