Nothing like your first Emmy Award, right Trevor Noah?
Then again, how about a five-year contract upgrade?!
Noah has agreed to a contract extension with Comedy Central that not only keeps him behind the anchor desk of The Daily Show with Trevor Noah through 2022, but also allows him to host and produce annual end-of-the-year special editions of The Daily Show, starting this December.
Noah said: “I’m thrilled to be continuing this amazing journey with both fans of The Daily Show and Comedy Central. It’s really exciting to renew this contract for either five more years or until Kim Jong Un annihilates us all–whichever one comes first.”
“Trevor makes us look smart on a daily basis, and for that we’re grateful,” said Comedy Central President Kent Alterman.
Noah won his first Emmy® Award (for Outstanding Short Form Variety Series for the series’ “Between the Scenes” digital exclusives) during the Creative Arts Emmy ceremonies last weekend.
He’ll celebrate his two-year anniversary hosting The Daily Show on Sept. 28, 2017, and has seen his ratings increase monthly and quarterly this year over last.
