Amazon orders series reuniting Fred Armisen and Maya Rudolph

Fred Armisen just wrapped production on the eighth and final season of IFC’s Portlandia (which will air in January), and the Saturday Night Live alum already has his next sitcom lined up — an Amazon Prime series reuniting him with SNL’s Maya Rudolph!

Amazon announced the straight-to-series pickup over the weekend.

Not much about the single-cam show has been made public yet, although look for Armisen and Rudolph to play a couple, just not Prince and Beyonce.

Alan Yang (co-creator of Master of None) and Matt Hubbard (who wrote/produced with Yang on Parks and Recreation) are executive producing along with the comedy duo, plus 3 Arts’ Dave Becky and Brillstein’s Tim Sarkes.
