UCB4 to play Carnegie Hall to kick off #DCM20

After a successful 19th annual Del Close Marathon, what else do the so-called UCB4 have left up their sleeves?

How about Carnegie Hall?

The co-founders of the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre — Amy Poehler, Matt Besser, Ian Roberts and Matt Walsh — announced they’ll kick off the 20th anniversary of DCM one night earlier than usual, with a performance of their long-running long-form improv show, ASSSCAT, live at Carnegie Hall on Thursday, June 28, 2018.

“Twenty years ago we started doing improv in a bar where we could barely hear each other. Now we are going to do our show at Carnegie Hall where you can hear a pin drop. New York has been pretty good to us,” Poehler said Poehler.

DCM, the group’s annual celebration of their late improv guru, Del Close, included more than 700 shows and panels on 10 stages over the past three days and nights across Manhattan.

The UCB Tour Co., made up of improv all-stars from the theater’s many alums, also plans a special free performance this summer at Central Park. The July 10 improv show at Central Park SummerStage will feature SNL vet Sasheer Zamata, Shannon O’Neill and others. Check the NYC City Parks Foundation for more info.
