WHYY launching new podcast, “Cosby Unraveled”

The only podcast genre more popular than comedians talking comedy is journalists talking true crime. So Cosby Unraveled probably will break all of the previous podcasting records after it launches tomorrow.

“Who is Bill Cosby? A funny man. A philanthropist. A beloved TV dad….or a sexual predator.” That’s the question posed by Annette John-Hall, the host of Cosby Unraveled, a new podcast series from WHYY radio’s Newsworks.

John-Hall is the WHYY reporter for Keystone Crossroads, a statewide public media initiative focused on the problems facing Pennsylvania’s cities and possible solutions, and before that, a metro columnist for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

As Cosby’s rape trial begins June 5, Cosby Unraveled will focus on the full biography of the legendary comedian from his childhood in Philadelphia to all of his fame and fortune, and through extensive interviews, examine his influence, legacy and downfall. Here’s the trailer for you to listen to:

The first episode of Cosby Unraveled will be released May 24, 2017. It’s also available for download and subscription on iTunes.

  1. Bobby Allen as a reporter has an amazing gift of objectivity. Who says “she couldn’t help herself ” as a descriptor for a person giving their side as they cried? WHYY you seem to be of the thought that no one can see a bias. I’m not defending or condemning the man, I just expected better from you guys. Does it being on an podcast lower the standard?
