“Why did the chicken cross the road?” Louis CK’s 2017 SNL monologue

This is the look on Louis CK’s face right after he told a live television audience that he’d like to buy a goat so he could have “a trash can that I can make love to.”

Yep. CK grins in a way that lets you know how much he can’t believe what he’s getting away with you telling you onstage sometimes, and for his fourth time hosting Saturday Night Live, the celebrated stand-up comedian opened with his elongated take on the classic joke, “Why did the chicken cross the road?” He then joked about his feeling on other types of animals, from giraffes to horses to goats, before explaining how after 28 years of motels, the past four years of 5-class luxury resort living as a top comic has changed him, and made him acutely aware of his white male privilege.

Roll the monologue!
