Steve Martin offers to teach you a MasterClass in comedy for $90

However you feel about comedy classes, Steve Martin may change your mind.

The online MasterClass series includes sessions you can watch and pay for in which Serena Williams, Frank Gehry, Gordon Ramsay, Shonda Rhimes, Aaron Sorkin, Dustin Hoffman and more, sharing their process with you and hopefully inspiring you to create your own art, too. Now there’s a new MasterClass on comedy offered by Steve Martin. It costs $90.

Roll the teaser trailer!

Here’s the official show description:

One of Steve’s first gigs was at the drive-in movies. When the audience liked a joke, they honked. In this class, Steve shares insights from performing for cars and humans over a 50-year career spanning sold-out arenas and blockbuster films. Learn how to find your voice, gather material, develop an act, and take your writing to the next level.

For $90, you get access to more than 25 video lessons given by Martin, a downloadable workbook with supplemental material, and the opportunity to upload your own videos for critiquing by the class. The class suggests “Steve will also critique select student work.”

Will Miles, a Chicago stand-up now based in New York City, is featured in the trailer above.

Miles told The Comic’s Comic: “There’s nothing like talking shop with one of the best! He was so cool. He really knew my jokes and gave awesome notes and stuff and told me more about comedic acting. I hadn’t heard many stories about people meeting him but it turns out he was one of the nicest people in the world.”

How’s that for a testimonial?
