Dave Chappelle to release THREE stand-up specials via Netflix

Remember a year or two ago when Dave Chappelle filmed his stand-up for purported specials in Austin, Chicago and who knows where else?

Chappelle has made a date for them with Netflix, and so should you!

Netflix announced the arrangement today, which includes not only a brand-new stand-up hour-plus from Chappelle to be filmed with director Stan Lathan, but also the release of two previous specials not yet seen from the comedian. The two previous sets, also directed by Lathan and filmed at Austin City Limits and at the Hollywood Palladium, will be released simultaneously in 2017.

“Dave Chappelle is a legendary voice in comedy — searing, vital, and now more than ever, essential,” said Lisa Nishimura, VP of Original Documentary and Comedy. “Dave’s three new specials promise to be some of the most anticipated events in comedy, and we are honored he will mark his global return on Netflix.”
