Snapshot: Most popular comedians on Laugh.ly app by state, vs. presidential leanings, October 2016

Need yet another unscientific way to break down how Americans feel, just a couple of weeks before the 2016 presidential election?

New comedy streaming app Laugh.ly — which lets you stream your favorite stand-up comedians for free — has broken down who your favorite stand-up comedians to listen to are in each state, and then mapped it against the Oct. 14, 2016, presidential polling and predictions from NBC News.

According to Laugh.ly, America’s top two most popular comedians are Aziz Ansari and Jim Gaffigan, with Ansari topping the list from residents along the East and West Coasts, while Gaffigan dominates across the nation’s midsection. That may or may not completely surprise you. Daniel Tosh and Dane Cook are tops in a few states, each, while Alonzo Bodden is Vermont’s favorite comedian to listen to on Laugh.ly, and Hannibal Buress reigns supreme among residents of the first state to ratify the U.S. Constitution, Delaware.

Of course, now I immediately want to compare this to maps and rankings from Pandora, Spotify and iTunes.

If you work at any of these places, please send me your data! Thanks.
