Notes on the Season 42 premiere of Saturday Night Live

For all of the talk about cast changes, stunt casting and the word that Saturday Night Live would have fewer ad time this year, the 42nd season premiere felt a bit underwhelming, didn’t it? That’s not to take anything away from the three new cast members.
