Two-fer-one gitting-r-done: Larry the Cable Guy and Jeff Foxworthy team up for Netflix stand-up special

They’re called the “Blue Collar” comedians, even though there’s very little blue-collar about telling jokes for a living and making millions of dollars at it.

And yet, onstage, Jeff Foxworthy and Larry the Cable Guy remain so gosh darn likable. Like your suburban white dad and your dad’s best friend or crazy brother. Not a drunk uncle. Larry (Dan Whitney) doesn’t give off that vibe, exactly.

In Jeff Foxworthy & Larry the Cable Guy: We’ve Been Thinking… — now available to stream on Netflix — they’ve teamed up for a 75-minute special showcasing their stand-up separately, but also equally. Foxworthy has traded his “You Might Be A Redneck” catchphrase with a new run of jokes based his “Facts of Life,” aka stuff you cannot Google but are nevertheless true to him. Larry, meanwhile, jumps right in with a “Git-R-Done” yelp or two, followed not only by jokes about how popular his catchphrase really is, but also by self-deprecating material later on that pokes fun at both Foxworthy’s Golden Corral ads as well as his own TV campaigns as a spokesman for Nutrisystem and Prilosec.

And here’s a peek at what they’ve been up to:

  1. The show only has a two star rating as of March 15th. I tried watching it but it was terrible and had to turn it off. Once you, the viewer watches this you will see for yourself. It felt like I was watching old men complain while an audience got drunk and laughed weakly. Time to retire maybe, if so get her done.
