MST3K revival will debut on Netflix with 14 episodes

Over the weekend at Comic-Con in San Diego, the cast of the new edition of Mystery Science Theater 3000 and creator Joel Hodgson announced that their 14-episode revival — funded via a massive $5.7 million Kickstarter campaign — will debut on Netflix in the “not-too-distant-future.”

The new cast includes host Jonah Ray, Felicia Day as Kinga, Patton Oswalt as TV’s Son of TV’s Frank, Hampton Yount as Crow T. Robot,  and Baron Vaughn as Tom Servo.

Former cast members Mary Jo Pehl (“Pearl Forrester”), Bill Corbett (“Crow T. Robot”) and Kevin Murphy (“Tom Servo”) will make appearances as themselves, too.

Hodgson also announced a writing staff led by former Daily Show head writer Elliott Kalan and including Joel McHale and Dan Harmon. Seriously.

Here’s an interview from Crave with Hodgson, Ray, Vaughn and Yount over the weekend.

Stay tuned for more details about the MST3K 2016 launch.
