Paul Mecurio on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert

Audiences at The Late Show with Stephen Colbert see Paul Mecurio every night, but usually only before the cameras start rolling, since Mecurio is the show’s audience warm-up comedian. On Wednesday night’s episode, though, Colbert booked him to perform during the show, too. So the audience greeted Mecurio with a standing ovation, and the comedian quickly revealed that he used to be a lawyer on Wall Street before giving that up for comedy. More applause!

Being the funniest lawyer in the firm, as Mecurio explains, is kind of like “being the sexiest IT guy.” How much Vaseline does that guy go through, though?

Roll the clip.

  1. Hi, Paul! I’m the wife of Joe, the daist with the long white hair, whom you invited on stage last night before the taping of Late Night with Stephen Colbert. Any chance it was taped or that the picture is available? I can’t locate anything anywhere. Thanks a lot!
