FOX orders animated pilot presentation from 2015 NYTVF pitch as 2016 submission process comes to a close

FOX has ordered a pilot presentation for That’s My Bus, the animated series about a New York City bus driver from comedians Dan Perlman and Will Julian that won the New York Television Festival’s pitch contest last year at Montreal’s Just For Laughs.

It’s too late to submit for the JFL Comedy Search contest this year.

But there still is time to enter the NYTVF’s central feature — its Independent Pilot Competition.

That’s where the cash and prizes are, in the form of development deals from Comedy Central, IFC, truTV, Seeso, and Bento Box. The regular submission deadline for the NYTVF Independent Pilot Competition is 6 p.m. Eastern on June 15, 2016. There’s also a procrastinator deadline with higher fees that extends to the end of the month. All pilots submitted must run between four and 60 minutes. Click for other FAQ.

This year, the NYTVF has added a Scripts Competition. Submissions will be accepted up until noon Eastern time on June 15, 2016.

NYTVF Scripts is accepting original, half-hour comedy series scripts for consideration by broadcast, cable, and digital platform buyers. To enter, writers must submit a series pilot script (20 to 40 pages), along with an original series overview (up to 4 pages), and a current C.V. Go to NYTVF Scripts for the submission info.
