Jerry Seinfeld and Margaret Cho to de-stress Stress Factory audience, ride in Cars Getting Coffee

Jerry Seinfeld booked two new comedy dates with Margaret Cho today. One for all of us with Internet access, and one just for the crowd upset with one of Cho’s shows last month at the Stress Factory in New Brunswick, N.J.

TMZ got its hands on an email the Stress Factory sent to audience members from one of Cho’s March 26 gigs at the club, which told them to come back this Thursday, April 21, for a make-up show that’ll include a talk with Seinfeld first.

Seinfeld also announced today that Cho is one of his guests for the upcoming eighth season of his award-winning webseries for Crackle, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.

Seinfeld wrote to Stress Factory audience members in the email: “When a stand-up show doesn’t go well, the audience and the comedian both go home unhappy, sometimes not really sure what went wrong. Every comedian has experienced this sense of unresolved resentment and anxiety.”

TMZ posted video from that night that showed audience members standing up and approaching the stage to confront Cho, then leaving during her performance.

“Wouldn’t it be something if we could go back to New Jersey, back to that club with the same audience and try to make things right? Have a discussion where both sides – comedian and audience – could talk about what happened?” Seinfeld added.

That should be interesting.

Rich Vos had been booked as the headliner this Thursday-Saturday, but now the club’s online calendar only lists Vos for Friday and Saturday nights, with Thursday left blank.

More interesting and definitely more amusing will be Cho’s ridealong with Seinfeld this summer for Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.

Other guests for Seinfeld’s eighth season on Crackle — which premieres June 15, 2016 — will include SNL creator Lorne Michaels, stand-up comic Jim Gaffigan, Last Week Tonight host John Oliver, actor JB Smoove and writer/producer Judd Apatow.
