The Daily Show with Trevor Noah will attend the 2016 Republican and Democratic national conventions

The first South African to host an American late-night talk show will be there in person this summer to find out if our country is ready to nominate the first Canadian-born president, first Jewish president, first female president, or as plenty have joked already, our last president of the United States.

The Daily Show with Trevor Noah will cover the 2016 Republican and Democratic National Conventions, with back-to-back weeks of telecasts on the road from Cleveland and Philadelphia.

“As someone who knows almost nothing about how American politics works, I look forward to spending two weeks with people just like me,” Noah said today as Comedy Central announced the road trips.

The Daily Show has covered the major-party conventions in the past four presidential elections (2000, 2004, 2008 and 2012), but this will mark the first major election coverage for Noah and his correspondents.

Tickets for the tapings are free — only available through dedicated Comedy Central-TDS sites and not through the host venues.

For the 2016 RNC, The Daily Show tapes July 19-22 at The Breen Center for the Performing Arts in Cleveland: dailyshow.com/RNCtickets.

For the 2016 DNC, The Daily Show tapes July 26-29 at the Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia: dailyshow.com/DNCtickets.
