Michelle Wolf joins The Daily Show as writer/contributor

Comedy Central’s The Daily Show with Trevor Noah has poached a top writer/contributor from Late Night with Seth Meyers, announcing Michelle Wolf has joined TDS as a writer and on-air contributor.

The hiring happened last week, but Comedy Central waited until after last week’s Upfronts to make the announcement.

Wolf was a writing supervisor for Late Night with Seth Meyers, made her late-night stand-up debut on the show in 2014, and also appeared regularly in sketches during the show’s earlier incarnation — including “Grown-Up Annie” and Cassandra in the game show “Fake or Florida.”

She currently stars in two webseries for Comedy Central: Used People (with Dan Soder) and Now Hiring with Michelle Wolf.

A New Face at Montreal’s JFL in 2014, Wolf also has made several online listmakers lists in the past year, including Vulture’s “50 Comedians You Should Know in 2015” and Time Out New York’s “The Top 10 Funniest Women in NYC.”
