SXSW’s Comedy lineup once again will stretch across all three of the “formal” portions of Austin’s massive festival celebrating Interactive, Film, and Music, with shows, live podcasts, film screenings and more from March 11-20, 2016. Plus an encore for SXSW’s live stand-up comedy showcase specials for Showtime. Last year, W. Kamau Bell hosted the twin specials. This year, it’s Natasha Leggero. Emma Willmann to host new SiriusXM spotlight show for comedians: “The Check Spot”

The “check spot” at a comedy club often presents a catch-22 for hungry stand-up comedians: You get a chance to perform for the big crowd, but it’s happening right before the headliner (or sometimes during the headliner’s set) and coincides with the servers dropping off the bills so your audience is most distracted.
