Comedy Central re-ups both Inside Amy Schumer, Broad City through Season 5, adds miniseries Time Traveling Bong

After a year that saw a lot of talent fly the Comedy Central coop, the cable network is locking down its critical faves — announcing a fifth-season renewal for Inside Amy Schumer and two more seasons for Broad City to get Abbi and Ilana through a fifth season.

Moreover, Comedy Central also ordered a three-episode miniseries, Time Traveling Bong, starring Ilana Glazer and Paul W. Downs, which will premiere on April 20, 2016, following the third-season finale this spring of Broad City.

“No comment,” said Glazer, Downs and Lucia Aniello.

The trio will write the miniseries about cousins played by Glazer and Downs who go blazing through time on a high, airing April 20-22 at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT. Aniello already directs and co-executive produces on Broad City with Downs, who also appears on that show as Abbi’s personal trainer co-worker.

The 10-episode third season of Broad City premieres Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2016. Seasons four and five will take Abbi and Ilana’s adventures and misadventures through New York City into 2017.

Inside Amy Schumer, which won Emmy and Peabody Awards in 2015 for its third season, returns for season four in April 2016. The show was the first to take home the Emmy for Outstanding Variety Sketch Series.

“We are so excited to get picked up,” said Schumer. “I’ve gotten picked up many times, but this time feels the best.”
