Just For Laughs announces JFL NorthWest fest in Vancouver; primetime special on The CW plus archived shows on CW Seed

It’s a big day for Just For Laughs on both sides of the border today.

In JFL’s native Canada, the organization responsible for the massive Montreal festival announced a new winter fest celebrating comedy in Vancouver, British Columbia — JFL NorthWest.

And in the United States, The CW announced it’ll air a primetime JFL special, Just For Laughs Starring Howie Mandel, that’ll air in January 2016, along with dozens of past JFL TV specials that already are online at CW Seed. The digital site also will become home to The Elevator Talk Show with Pete Holmes, a talk-show webseries Holmes filmed with comedians this past summer in Montreal.

Just For Laughs Starring Howie Mandel will air from 8-9:30 p.m. ET/PT on Monday, Jan. 18, 2016, on The CW, with guests Jeff Ross, Pete Holmes, Jim Breuer, Fortune Feimster, Vladimir Caamano and Marina Franklin, and comedians remembering their favorite JFL Montreal moments.

CW Seed’s Just For Laughs page currently features 30 stand-up showcase episodes — half previously aired as hour specials, the other half as half-hours — dating from 2000 through 2013.
