Episode #27: Josie Long

Josie Long started performing comedy in Britain at 14 and was winning awards from the BBC by the time she was 17. Long took her first stand-up show to Edinburgh Fringe in 2006 and the festival named her Best Newcomer — she since racked up three consecutive nominations for Best Comedy Show at the Fringe, and she’s making her biggest splash yet in the United States with a two-week run of her 2014 show, “Cara Josephine,” at the SoHo Playhouse in New York City. I caught up with Josie between shows to find out if she’s a comedy genius, or just a straight-up genius.

We spoke about candy lands, Willy Wonka, junior Mensa, co-existing with adults in comedy classes, telemarketing, what it means to make it in America versus the United Kingdom, and the joys of having Maximum Fun on a comedy cruise.

So let’s get to it!
