Episode #23: Gad Elmaleh

Gad Elmaleh already is the most famous comedian in France, where he has millions of Twitter followers and is commonly referred to by people who don’t know him as the Jerry Seinfeld of France. And true to form, Gad not only is an observational comedian but also has voiced Seinfeld’s character in Bee Movie and appeared in Seinfeld’s Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. He also appeared in the Woody Allen movie, Midnight in Paris, and starred in the 2006 romantic comedy, Priceless. But he’s challenging himself in a completely new way in the fall of 2015, performing stand-up comedy shows for the first time All In English — which also is the title for his initial run of shows at Joe’s Pub in New York City, where I caught up with him to talk about how far he has come already. So let’s get to it! Allons-y!
