Episode #22: Aida Rodriguez

You’ve seen Aida Rodriguez on your NBC stations in the summer of 2014 competing as a finalist on the eighth season of Last Comic Standing, and for the past two years, she has hosted the Imagen Awards celebrating the positive portrayals of Latinos onscreen in TV, movies and webseries. The 30th annual Imagen Awards air Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015, on PBS (check your local listings).

Rodriguez spoke with me about her modeling career, studying genetic engineering, being a third-generation teenage mother, her heritage in Puerto Rico, Cuba and the Dominican Republic, and performing from childhood in Miami through to Last Comic Standing, and now on the touring bill of Shaq’s All-Star Comedy Jam.
