That Chris Rock Dave Chappelle comedy duet magic happened again, this time at Gramercy Theatre

Dave Chappelle began a multi-night stint at New York City’s Gramercy Theatre last night with all-star opening acts that included Saturday Night Live‘s Michael Che and Pete Davidson, plus his former Chappelle’s Show co-star Donnell Rawlings.

But how’s Chris Rock for a show-stopper?! Rock dropped in for a surprise set, too, and joined Chappelle onstage as the two riffed and tagged each other’s jokes.

The duo famously enjoyed each other’s comedy company onstage for consecutive nights in February 2013 at The Comedy Cellar and tossed around the idea of a joint tour.

For now, it’s just a New York City thing.

And as Che wrote in snapping the photo above — since all of Chappelle’s shows come with strict no-cameras no-phones policies — “you missed it.”

Chappelle performs at the Gramercy tonight and Wednesday, too, though.
